FOR EVERY WALK OF LIFE
Dry Screed Flooring
Knauf Flooring Systems are precision engineered from the highest-quality gypsum fibreboard to create strong monolithic floor structures. They provide an excellent alternative to traditional wet floor screed.
From Knauf Brio for new build and refurbishment through to Knauf GIFAfloor for hollow floor systems in high-spec commercial building, Knauf has a wide range of flooring products to suit modern construction methods (MMC).
These dry screed systems are easy to install, and no water or specialist screed pumps are needed during installation. The boards are also significantly thinner than traditional wet screeds, maximising floor to ceiling height and making them ideal for retrofit and refurbishment projects.
Furthermore, the thinness of the boards translates to lightness also, being as little as 25% of the weight of traditional wet screed systems. This means less substantial concrete or steel substructures and foundations are needed.
As there are no protracted drying times, the systems are ready for the commissioning of underfloor heating, installation of floor finishes and foot traffic after just 24 hours. If used in conjunction with underfloor heating, the low thermal resistance and high thermal conductivity of our boards assist in improving response times whether you are heating or cooling the floor, thus reducing energy consumption.
From a design perspective, Knauf dry screed boards are suitable for a range of finishes, including ceramic floor tiles, natural stone floor tiles, laminate flooring, vinyl flooring and wood flooring. This means that our dry screed systems are ideal for use throughout a building, including for kitchen flooring and bathroom flooring.
