The Knauf Group
With over 150 production facilities in more than 60 countries, and more than 26,000 employees globally, the Knauf Group is one of the biggest producers of building materials in the world.
Brothers Karl and Alfons Knauf founded the company in 1932 after securing the right to mine gypsum deposits in the Schengen community in Germany.
A year later, Knauf built its first gypsum factory in Perl, southwest Germany.
Today the Knauf Group is led by former Bosch Rexroth President Manfred Grundke in the position of Managing Partner, alongside Alexander Knauf who is also Managing Partner.
From its beginnings in gypsum processing along the Saar and Main rivers, Knauf has expanded and diversified to become a corporation with worldwide activities, delivering products and services in the following fields:
