We are delighted that our National Account Director, Samantha Hanks, has been recognised in the Builders’ Merchant News and Builders’ Merchant Federation’s (BMF) Top 100 Supplier Influencers list.
Chosen by multiple merchants and buying group members, the nominees are recognised for their involvement, presence, and commitment to the industry, as well as charitable and community work.
One of only two women included in the first cohort of 25 nominees, Samantha is known not only for her work at Knauf, but also as a BMF ambassador and for her work as a trustee on the board of charity Band of Builders.
Commenting on the accolade, Samantha said: “I am extremely honoured to be nominated by my merchant and buying group customers and I’m in awe that my name has been included alongside industry stalwarts and those I still consider to be my mentors.”
Open about the challenges she experienced early in life, including spending nine years in the foster care system, supporting herself through college and becoming a single parent at 18, Samantha credits these experiences for making her strong, determined and passionate - all traits that have helped her excel and accomplish all that she has in the industry.
Samantha said: “For me to be recognised here shows that if you work hard and find an industry that embraces you and helps you grow, you can achieve all that you want in life, no matter the struggles you may have faced.”
