Technical Team Leader

Job Purpose:

To provide best in class technical support via the Internal Technical Services Team to both internal and external customers, enhancing the company’s position within the industry via our winning attitude and customer centricity. To support, manage and nurture existing, new and future team members through one of the key talents pools in company. To innovate and support new smarter working methods and techniques and aid the development of new products and systems.

Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Your key responsibilities are:

  • You are required to follow company Health and Safety procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and others
  • Leadership, management, motivation and development of Technical Support Officers and Technical Trainees on a daily basis
  • To ensure your team is able to provide prompt, accurate and professional support across the whole range of systems and products within the Knauf UK basket
  • Develop new strategies, levering the use of new technologies, to become the recognized leader in construction technical support
  • Where necessary, take ownership of handling of technical matters, conferring with Technical Services Director and/or other members of the Technical department as required
  • Clearly demonstrate continuous improvement
  • Ensure full CRM use to inform business of customer intel and help to grow the project pipeline
  • Lead phased implementation of customer communications platform
  • Provide support to all other technical departments
  • Running various detailed and scheduled reports as required by management
  • Enable your team to work closely and cross functionally with project specification team; business development team and
  • Primarily office based from Sittingbourne Head Office
  • Anything commensurate to complete your role



Qualifications, skills, ability and/or experience:

  • Degree or HND in construction, architectural or engineering related field or relevant field experience
  • Computer literate with expert knowledge in CAD preferably Revit / AutoCAD; Microsoft Office Suite; and working knowledge of social media platforms
  • Proven leadership skills, with ability to prioritize and delegate
  • Leadership experience, with ability to resolve conflict
  • Structured problem evaluation and problem solving skills, as well as innovate and adapt
  • Ability to work well as part of a team or alone
  • Ability to work from own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written; from a wide range of customers from the architectural/ design community to site teams
  • Customer centric
  • Calm under pressure
  • Knowledge of drywall systems; flooring systems; render systems; façade systems; and ceiling systems advantageous
