1 Maximum heights and fire resistance:
Maximum heights – calculated based on a limiting deflection of L/240 at 200 Pascals (0.2kN/m2).
The maximum heights related above is for fire resistance of system to meet project requirements of BS 476: Part 22: 1987 only.
For maximum heights in relation to meeting project requirements of BS EN 1364-1:2015, please consult Technical Services.
2 Acoustic sound reduction dB (Rw)
Systems tested or assessed in accordance with BS EN ISO 10140-1:2010+A2:2014.
Acoustic sound reduction based on ‘C’ Stud centres at 600mm centres.
3 Period in minutes: inclusive of Integrity & Insulation
* Knauf Insulation Acoustic Roll in stud cavity
**Knauf Insulation Acoustic Roll in central cavity
† Bracing metal studs using Knauf Flat Fixing Plate or Knauf Fixing Channel at 1500mm. Note bracing using metal sections can reduce the sound reduction insulation by approximately 2dB (Rw) to overall system.
Note: Systems for both fire resistance and sound insulation performances are for imperforate partitions, incorporating plasterboard with all outer joints taped and filled, in accordance with Knauf recommendations.
